How to Use X-Templates in Vue.js

Updated 1 August 2023

In this blog, we will go over the steps to implementing X-Templates with a detailed explanation of the code.

X-Templates, also known as Inline Templates or String Templates, are a powerful feature in Vue.js that allows you to define component templates as strings instead of using the traditional HTML-like syntax. Instead of writing the template directly within the component options, you can use X-Templates to separate the template from the component definition.
Step 1: Include Vue.js in Your Project
First, ensure that you have Vue.js installed in your project. You can either use a CDN link or install it using npm:

Step 2: Define Your X-Template
Next, create an X-Template in your HTML file:

Step 3: Create the Vue Instance
Now, you need to create a Vue instance and specify the available X-Templates:

In this example, we have a Vue instance with a data object containing currentTemplate, title, and description. The currentTemplate variable holds the ID of the X-Template to be rendered.
Step 4: Run Your Application
Save your HTML file, open it in your browser, and you should see the rendered template with the title and description provided in the Vue instance.

Conclusion: X-Templates in Vue.js offer a convenient way to define templates directly within your HTML code. They provide encapsulation, reusability, and faster development, making them an excellent choice for specific scenarios.
